Draft Galway City Development Plan goes on public display

The long running, highly controversial, and often bizarre saga of the Galway City Ring Road is finally set to both come to an end, and begin to become a reality, following An Bord Pleanála’s decision, on Tuesday, to grant planning permission.

Fianna Fáil Senator for Mayo, Lisa Chambers, has welcomed the announcement of €40 million in funding for Higher Education Institutions for capital works.

The time has come for existing town boundaries to be looked at as well as extensions to them, said one county councillor at this month's meeting of Mayo County Council.
